Concept - Defomability
a. Capacity for change of form; pliability.
b. A measure of the extent to which something is deformable (under standard conditions)
Deformability is defined as the design of inclusive, regenerative, and groundbreaking in the NEXT satellite office to responding the post-pandemic working environment. The workplace takes advantage of fluid space planning, predictions of potential future design, and exploration of diversity in order to maintain the unique core value of the startup company culture, promote a safe collaborative environment, and improve the well-being of employees.
Project Description
The designer is required to design the two-story satellite office space of Next company in 4 Columbus Circle, New York, NY 10019. The founder is inspired by diversity, respect for vegans, no cruelty, and sustainable development. The selection of furniture for the Next office space should mainly come from Steelcase, a professional furniture design company. The expected design of NEXT's office space will be mainly based on its brand positioning and core values in order to maintain the productivity, safety, the comfort of employees. The NEXT company is also looking for new work modes and development opportunities for the post-epidemic. Flexibility and collaboration are also crucial design elements. The designer should consider the relevant design of space, technology, lighting, wellbeing, and inclusion of community by using the typologies of workspace, meeting space, social space, support space, and rejuvenate space.
The wildcard space shows a unquie interactive experience with technologies to show the specific Korean culture. (NEXT's CEO grew up from South Korea)
The designer designed the middle core of the 7th Floor to recall the local sit - NYC Central Park and use the special geometric structures to emphasis the concept of DEFORMABILITY.
